Apparently, her mother met John when she was 2 years old. Although John is said to be her father, he never legally married Yeev. Further, Yeev lists her relationship status as married on Facebook. Lee, however, decided to change her last name to her father’s. Both of her parents immigrated from Laos and were part of the large Hmong families. It seems their families escaped Laos, making the dangerous trek across the Mekong River to refugee camps in Thailand. They later found themselves in the United States. Her father was partially paralyzed due to an accident in August 2019. Her father has 10 siblings, all living in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Her huge family, however, fell victim to the pandemic. Apparently, her aunt and uncle died in the summer due to COVID.
